this is your awakening wake up call or is spiritual awakening a mind game

Special Offer — This is Your Awakening Wake Up Call

Here’s your opportunity this is your awakening wake up call.  Does it resonate?  Is there a way to tell if you are awakening, or is it all just an elaborate mind game?

The term awakening refers to an expansion of perceptual, intellectual, and spiritual awareness.  Try to say that fast three times.

“Spiritual awakening is the most essential thing in man’s life, and it is the sole purpose of being.” — Khalil Gibran

The realm of spirituality is infested with a horrible contagion known as religion.  It sells mythology and superstition, and this spiritual junk food makes it hard to tell the genuine from the fake.

There’s a huge difference between religious enchantment and genuine enlightenment. However, that doesn’t stop organized religions from trying their hardest to cloud the issue.

Is Spiritual Awakening a Mind Game?

We are all explorers at heart; our very nature compels us to investigate everything.  The inward quest is no exception.  This innate desire is what Joseph Campbell calls the Hero’s Journey. (1)  When we respond to this wake up call, we set several things in motion that set us apart from the norm.

We must avoid the temptation of the falling into the trap of religion with its crazy and illogical answers.  If we resist religion, we still have some obstacles to overcome.

Getting beyond the superficial level of conscious thought is one of the significant hurdles.  The mind is an extraordinary instrument.  We use the mind to go beyond the mind.  Our consciousness is a flexible, expandable, and incredibly delicate device.

“Spiritual awakening is awakening from the dream of thought.” ― Eckhart Tolle

“Consciousness, when it’s unburdened by the body, is something that’s ecstatic; we use the mind to watch the mind, and that’s the meta-nature of our consciousness; we know that we know that we know, and that’s such a delicious feeling, but when it’s unburdened by biology and entropy, it becomes more than delicious: it becomes magical.”  —  Jason Silva

“You can be awake but not aware.    Awakening is the spark.  This spark is the innate desire to explore the inner world of consciousness.   It is a call to embark on a mystical journey.  If you feel the need to explore, then you are aware.  So, you’ll need to choose.  You can fan that spark to become awake, or go back to sleep.” — Guru Tua

So are there ways to tell if what you are experiencing is a spiritual awakening mind game or a genuine wake up call?

Stage 1 Realization of Being Asleep

Many outstanding teachers tell us awakening is real and tangible.  It doesn’t appear to be sleight-of-hand trickery or a mind game, but is there any concrete way to know for sure?

The awakening process begins with the realization that we have been asleep.

“Only those who have awakened know that they were sleeping.” —  Jim Paredes

What was causing this hypnosis?  Religious indoctrination is one of the primary sources of groupthink manipulation.  The other is the indoctrination of commercialism.  When both are prevalent in society, the vast majority are controlled by one or more types of propaganda.

“You think of yourselves as humans searching for a spiritual awakening, when in fact you are spiritual beings attempting to cope with a human awakening.  Seeing yourselves from the perspective of the spirit within will help you remember why you came here and what you came here to do.” — Neale Donald Walsch

Stage 2 Growth of Awareness and Perception

Perhaps awakening is a gradual process.  It can go up and down.  We can have plateaus where growth stagnates.  We can also regress and fall backward or experience gradual, incremental change or great leaps.  Nothing is guaranteed, not even the amount of time we have to make the trip.

“Spiritual awakening is the difficult process whereby the increasing realization that everything is as wrong as it can be flips suddenly into the realization that everything is as right as it can be.  Or better, everything is as It as it can be.” — Alan Watts

“You have wakened not out of sleep but into a prior dream, and that dream lies within another, and so on, to infinity, which is the number of grains of sand.  The path that you are to take is endless, and you will die before you have truly awakened.” ― Jorge Luis Borges

Assess your Current State

Life is your opportunity.  So, will you awaken and take advantage of this chance to explore and evolve?  Or will you stay asleep?

Does your current practice change your perception?  Does it make it possible for you to see and move beyond ordinary states of waking, dreaming, and sleeping?  Can your practice produce an immediate eureka experience?

Do you have a way of measuring your incremental growth?  If you can’t answer yes to the above, it’s time to make some changes.  If it’s not creating positive changes in your awareness, it’s likely just a psychological mind game.

Here’s another way to tell if you are on the path of awakening.  Awakening involves our hearts, and as we become more awake, we can open the virtues of the spirit. These virtues are not goals; they are the gifts of our nature.  These gifts are available to each of the nine basic personality types.  So, each personality has its own path and challenges.

What exactly is awakening, and how can we measure it?  The symptoms of awakening can differ slightly for everyone.  Everyone starts in a different place; everyone has a unique set of spiritual gifts.  You can measure your progress or lack of it if you document your thoughts and progress in a journal.  A simple handwritten journal is one of the best tools for the spiritual explorer.

Many people desire to awaken but don’t know to do it.  It is often a choice to stay asleep emersed in a combination of religion and commercialism or awaken.

It’s the stark difference between two paths of Western and Eastern traditions.  These are the two primary paths that one may travel.  If you want to awaken, you must pick the right one.  If you select the wrong one, don’t be afraid to change it.  Next, we’ll look at these two paths.

Spiritual Awakening Symptoms ― A Choice of Paths

Do You Align with Spirituality in Western Traditions?

The Western traditions are Christianity, Judaism and Islam, also known as the Semitic or Abrahamic religions (2).  These religions are not new constructs; these systems are the rebranding of Assyrian, Babylonian, Egyptian, and Persian mystery religions

The primary groupthink mind game of organized religion is to use faith and belief in place of facts and evidence.  For example, these demonstrations manifest as talking in unknown languages, falling when prompted by the pastor or leader.  It’s about pretending you have an imaginary friend.   There aren’t any processes or measurable techniques.  It is all based on self-hypnosis and the submission to groupthink manipulation.

These mythologies focus on doctrine and the afterlife.  Doctrines are laws, rules, and guidelines that tell us what we should value and believe.  These religious systems do not explore or develop awareness or consciousness.

Their main concern is controlling your mind and keeping you a paying customer.  They do not want to think or grow or awaken to their hypocrisy.  If you are aware enough to see this choice, you are on your way. This is your awakening from the mind game of self-hypnosis and the subjugation of your mind to mythology and superstition.  What is your choice?

Do You Align with Spiritual Awakening in Eastern Traditions?

The focus of most Eastern Traditions is on personal development.   These Eastern traditions include Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Confucianism, and all Animistic Indigenous traditions.

Many Eastern traditions are the storehouses of ancient knowledge we call spiritual technologies. It is these traditions that have guarded the processes we call spiritual technologies.

“An intellectual understanding that is not backed by experiential knowledge can lead to mind games and deceptive states.”  ― Sadhguru, Inner Engineering: A Yogi’s Guide to Joy

These traditions are the storehouses of most techniques for creating an authentic spiritual path.  We divide these tools four groups.

You can use these tools to grow and explore if you have awakened.

This is Your Awakening Wake Up Call Are You Ready?

After you assess which spiritual path you are on and which one you’d rather be on then, you can take action to realign your activities.

Sadly, many people do not want to become awake.  They don’t want to know what lies beyond the five senses.  So they are happy to live a life of delusion, but there is another path.   If you want to know, then start practicing the spiritual technologies above.  These processes help you awake from your slumber.   Find someone to teach you one of the spiritual technologies.

You have two choices.  The authentic path of spiritual exploration is not a mind game.  It is quite a contrast from organized religion and faith and belief as a shell game.  So, this is your awakening wake up call.  Will you answer it?
