Everyone believes they are too smart to fall prey to the tactics of a con man. But intelligence is no match for the power of group hypnosis script. You may be a victim of these tactics and not realize it. Learn how to avoid these ruthless tactics.
What is a con man? The con man is short for a “confidence manipulator.” It is someone who gains your trust through deceptive practices to get you to believe something that isn’t true. In this way, they can manipulate you through sleight-of-hand tricks, appealing to your basic instincts of greed or fear. It often leads to them defrauding you out of something valuable.
Irrational Belief & Group Hypnosis
“During the first seven years, every society tries to condition the mind — and conditioning means nothing but hypnosis: forcing authority, law, tradition, religion, scripture, the priest, the church, into the innermost unconscious of the child so that from there you can control him.” — Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, Osho
It is common knowledge that children are the most susceptible to indoctrination. It’s the main reason why religious institutions open schools. Get them early, and they are customers for life.
“Religion was invented when the first con man met the first fool.” — Mark Twain
“The secret of being a top-notch con man is being able to know what the mark wants, and how to make him think he’s getting it.” — Ken Kesey
“We are asleep. Our Life is a dream. But we wake up sometimes, just enough to know that we are dreaming.” — Ludwig Wittgenstein
Osho and others tell us social conditioning is like hypnosis. It puts us to sleep, and we “make-believe” in things for which there is no evidence. We must be asleep to ignore the facts that contradict irrational beliefs.
We stay asleep until we awaken enough to admit we have been asleep under the influence of religious mythology and superstition. But to awaken, we disengage from the source of the hypnotist. We must get away from the con man fleecing us and perpetrating lies. Only after we remove the source can we remove the harmful programming. Then, we can replace it with healthy thinking and behaviors. Hypnosis promotes irrational belief, a slippery and dangerous slope that opens the mind to extremist thinking. (1)
Intelligence is No Match for Hypnosis
No matter how intelligent you are, your psyche will succumb to the relentless power of religious indoctrination. The hypnotic power of groupthink manipulation tactics overcomes reason and logic. The more one exposes themselves, the more susceptible they are to “hypnotic suggestion.” The good con man will find your weak spot. They train using three basic elements in their cons.
1) Deception or sleight of hand trickery (substitution, optical illusions, etc.)
2) Prey on basic instincts like greed or fear
3) There’s always a time element that prompts you to make a quick emotional decision
Once they find your weak spot, they exploit it. It is a slippery slope that makes you “want to believe” in what you are being led to believe. It is the same slippery path that is used by religion. You didn’t recognize the tactics because they are socially acceptable. Hypnosis changes the way the mind processes information. (2)
And this is why intelligence is no match. Some people have attended universities of higher learning and earned degrees in various professions, including lawyers, doctors even scientists. But, they “miss” the con man they visit to give their hard-earned money to support ideologies propped up mythologies and superstitions.
This type of programming requires constant indoctrination. Repetition of false assumptions is the essence of the technique. You establish mythology as fact. You keep repeating the premises until you accept it as fact. It seems like an oversimplification that anyone could see through, but this “script” works well. Intelligence is no match for this suite of mind control. Even the most intelligent person will succumb to these tactics.
Groupthink manipulation has two primary tools, self-hypnosis, and group hypnosis script. These tactics produce a subliminal effect like the hypnosis performed on stage. Individuals are programmed to overcome their rational thought processes and ignore facts that threaten these beliefs. That’s one sign of the hypnotic power of this programming.
Many people begin indoctrination as children. Children are easy to program because they trust their families and caregivers. People who are going through a crisis are also at risk. That is because vulnerable people are looking for answers to significant life problems. So, they reach out to their neighborhood religion and subject themselves to indoctrination.
The Hypnotic Power of Group Hypnosis Script
Religion confuses confidence with faith and belief. Intelligence is no match for continuous indoctrination that substitutes faith for confidence.
We have confidence in the sun rising each day because the evidence supports this probability. They require belief and faith belief for things that have no credible proof. The best liars are those who sincerely believe the lie is the truth. So, they develop “apologetics” to justify factual and logical inconsistencies. They use circular logic to justify illogical arguments. But it works because they repeat it until they accept it.
This type of propaganda eventually overcomes rational thinking. These techniques were developed eons ago by the mystery religions of Assyria, Babylon, Egypt, and Persia. These mind-control tactics are just as helpful today, and they are used to install any value or behavior.
Groupthink manipulation leads to irrational thinking, making programming other unhealthy ideas easier. Group hypnosis script uses irrational belief to promote unhealthy bias and prejudice. It uses fear and greed as motivators. It preys on our existential fear of death, selling the afterlife. Belief in things that don’t exist includes an imaginary friend battling an imaginary enemy. The hypnotic power of faith can overcome intelligence, facts, and logic.
Faith leads to irrational thinking, which lacks common sense and sound reasoning. And this results in poor judgment. Irrational beliefs have no proof or basis in logic and reason. They need faith to substantiate their beliefs because they are foolish and baseless. Faith and belief are the tools of self-hypnosis.
Group hypnosis script and its companion of self-hypnosis are the bedrock of Western organized religion, and these religions are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These “Abrahamic” religions. They are not new but are copies of the mystery religions mentioned above. They didn’t create anything; they appropriated the mind-control that the mystery religions developed. These religions are the source of Gurdjieff’s hypnotic state of sleep. The Semitic religions could not exist without using self-hypnosis to overcome common sense reasoning.
The Hypnotic Power of Faith and Belief
An irrational belief is a powerful tool. It creates a platform for selling any values or ideology. It does not need to have a factual basis. Once you establish mythology as a fact, you can add anything to it. When superstitious belief enters the culture, it also becomes a political tool.
Now you create an elaborate system of contradictory philosophies. This system creates a need for an authority to interpret confusing messages. Next, you open up outlets to propagate and disseminate this religion. You use your army to take over any existing beliefs and rebrand their locations as your own—selling faith in the afterlife. There are rewards for believers and eternal punishment for those who do not fall in line.
“Eternal suffering awaits anyone who questions God’s, infinite love.” ― Bill Hicks
The only way to support this illogical and morally corrupt position is with the hypnotic power of irrational belief.
Using the Ego to Reinforce Groupthink
The Ego floods the mind with thoughts. Many sages and psychologists agree that it maintains control of our awareness. The Ego likes to be in control. It’s like the car is in control of the driver. We become so familiar with living in this hypnotic state we don’t even notice.
Religion wants to keep the Ego in control because it knows how to manipulate it. It uses faith and belief to install illogical and contradictory elements. These counteract our common sense. This way, we don’t question the circular logic and contradictions. Circular reasoning is a prominent tool used for religious indoctrination. It proves the hypnotic power of religious indoctrination can install belief in anything. Group hypnosis script is a valuable tool for controlling the mind. Anything is possible if you can get people to believe in an imaginary friend.
The Abrahamic religions adopted groupthink manipulation and social programming techniques from their predecessors. Here they found these powerful self-hypnosis techniques. It’s also where we find the popular concepts of the afterlife, hell, and demons. These concepts tie into our basic fears. They use these fears to control their acolytes.
Breaking the Hypnotic Power of Religion
To move beyond this state of “hypnosis,” we must do two things. First, silence the idle chatter of the Ego. Second, counter the programming group hypnosis script.
To silence the inner chatter, we use the proper form of meditation. Some people can do this easy two-step beginning mediation practice. Others find that the techniques of mindfulness meditation work well. More advanced techniques like Japa or Transcendental Meditation (TM) are even better.
To counter this hypnosis, you must recognize the sources, remove yourself, or minimize contact with the programming. Western organized religion is the primary source of this harmful programming. It can be challenging for many people for several reasons.
First, self-hypnosis is powerful and addictive. Since these religions control much of the cultural narrative, it is hard to escape their overt influence. Many attend weekly meetings where they receive this programming to reinforce this skewed worldview. It comes from organized religion, TV, and radio programming.
There are two tools we recommend to help remove this harmful programming. First, the Enneagram helps us identify how dangerous thought scripts attach to our personality and instincts. Second, Comparative Analysis is a systematic method of comparative religious study. This process will uncover the origins of your beliefs. These two analytical tools help you discover the thought scripts, bias, and prejudice.
We also recommend you partner with others on the same mission of discovery. Ensure they are there to seek the truth and not simply find reasons to hang onto their current beliefs.
Lessons from Gurdjieff’s System
Researching Gurdjieff’s work, we found some interesting things. He was a researcher of consciousness. His approach was eclectic. Eventually, he started his system by combining several methods. He sought ways to counteract the effects of self-hypnosis created by religion. Instead of challenging their belief system, he used a more efficient tactic. He planted seeds using the subconscious mind to illuminate their inner truths. It forces the person to see their irrational beliefs.
We think this is an excellent strategy for discovering and handling harmful programming. And it mirrors practices and processes found around the globe in other ancient traditions. Gurdjieff’s process involves a progressive approach using the six following elements.
1) First, he developed a form of the Enneagram personality profile. Thus, enabling the student to identify the thought processes fixating the mind and consequently causing a perpetual state of self-hypnosis. So, you realize you are asleep. Now you can awaken.
2) He uses a series of complex movements. These are “sacred dances” requiring a high level of focus. Because they need full attention, they suspend the mind’s internal dialogue.
3) Next, they teach students silent meditation using a mantra. Again, the goal is to free the mind of all conscious and subconscious thoughts. That is reaching the 4th state of consciousness directly.
4) Then, he alternated the sacred dance with periods of silent meditation for lengthy periods. It is known as a “round,” alternating silence and activity. It grounds the individual allowing the Observer to take more control of the objective presence within the mind. The Ego becomes a passenger instead of the driver.
5) Students need to normalize and become comfortable in these new spaces. The mind needs time to adjust to the new freedom. Normalizing occurs over time. The longer the student engages in these elements, the more comfortable they become.
6) When you normalize the 4th state in waking awareness, one can achieve a separate state of consciousness known as “Witnessing.” In this state, one simultaneously holds the partition of transcendence while in a waking state of consciousness. Here people report the experience of “oneness” with all things. Here, the driver controls the car instead of the car being in control of the driver.
There are four buckets of mind-expansion techniques. They do not use hypnosis, mythology, or superstition.
Investigate these tools. Many of them you can learn from the articles.
In Conclusion
Faith and belief are enemies of progress. And these tools of religion are not only personal enemies; they infect our society’s cultural narrative. Intelligence is no match for the hypnotic power of group hypnosis script, it creates a foundation of irrational beliefs, but we can combat this tide of brainwashing. We can overcome the hypnotic power of this programming. We, too, have powerful weapons, facts, evidence, science, and logic.
