Music is a Spiritual Vibration — Our Consciousness Connection

Use Music To Change Your Spiritual Vibration

All music is spiritual because everything in the Universe is vibration.   That means you and I are also a musical vibration.

Changing Spiritual Vibration

Physics helps us understand how everything is energy.  So, everything is in our Universe is a unique frequency.  Music has some interesting properties. Perhaps this is because we are also vibration and frequency.  We have some ways of controlling this through the practice of what we call spiritual exploration.  Through this type of practice, you can raise your vibrational frequency.

Music is a Time Machine

When we hear music, we are listening, not only with our ears but also with our Essence, or Soul, our Being. If we open up and investigate what’s going on with the music that resonates with us, we can learn a lot about ourselves.   Music is a very effective mnemonic device.  Music connects with us and to us in many ways. It resonates with memories of significant times, places, people, and the emotions that are associated with them. Music enables us to re-live moments or cultivate emotional reactions that are real to both our psychology and physiology. In other words, music is like a time machine.

Music is a mechanism to connect with and engage the more instinctive aspects of the mind. This helps us transcend the ego. Specific sounds can be used to resonate with the energy centers of the body called chakras. Different music affects different chakras and different energies.  Many indigenous cultures use instruments drums, singing bowl and rattles to explore the relationship of vibration and consciousness.

Music is an Emotional Link

As mentioned above music is a powerful linking device.  Music has a vibrational quality that links directly to our emotional center.  That’s one reason it is such a force in our culture.  In fact, every culture uses music to express its mission.  National anthems are cultural statements.  They are tools to encode the mission message.  You can use music to set or change your mood.  Music is a spiritual vibration and each genre, tempo and volume affect our minds, body, and soul.

Music Links to the Planet

We know the Earth has a vibrational signature.  This helps us become aware of our connection to the planet.  You probably have felt a connection to certain places.  Or, you may have felt certain places seem to emit either positive or negative energy.

Music as a tool for Spiritual Exploration

As part of your spiritual journey, we highly recommend that you investigate the music that is significant to you. Some music connects with us because of the lyrics, some because of the melody, rhythms or flavor of the music. Some music connects with us because it is associated emotionally with people, places, things ideas, desires, etc.  It connects with our essence, our spirit.  So, music truly is spiritual vibration.

Here is a simple but effective way you can investigate your connection to music. You will need your journal with several blank pages. Some people prefer a larger art sketchbook or even easel paper. Once you have your paper or easel ready, start your favorite music and just write or doodle. Some people don’t even watch the page while they are writing. Let your hand simply write what you feel, words, pictures, etc. Once you begin to access this creative and instinctive part of the mind, it is very freeing. Some refer to this as Automatic Writing.

All music is spiritual, even the music that doesn’t resonate with you.  It could be that the music is “off-key” or in a genre or style that you don’t like.  The more you explore different types of music, the more you find that you like.  Over time your taste in music may also change.  These are clues to what’s going on inside.  Definitely worth investigating with the Automatic Writing practice noted above.

In Conclusion

You may not have thought about yourself a spiritual vibration, but that’s exactly what we are.  May your song be sweet to those in your sphere of influence.
