We all want happiness in our lives. Learn to live our lives grounded in joy and happiness if we follow some practical steps.
The Situation with Happiness
Above all, most people agree we originate from a state of happiness and joy. We come into this world happy to be conscious. After all, our consciousness comes from the transcendent. The transcendent is a place of silence, joy, and happiness. Therefore, it’s not crazy to desire this as a foundation for our lives. Happiness is our original state of being.
It’s common for someone to ask, “how’s it going”. And the common response is, “I’m doing fine”. So, we assume people are happy. However, if you get below the surface you’ll find many people aren’t living in a state of happiness and joy. They are seeking it. And, perhaps they experience a glimpse of happiness now and then. But, their lives are not grounded in joy and happiness. So, how did we lose this? When did we lose it? And, how do we get it back?
The problem lies with the commercial nature of our culture. The cultural narrative teaches us to strive. It’s the only way can find happiness and joy. And, it is there to sell us all the things it says will give us happiness. However, the joy we feel is temporary.
So, we are constantly looking for the next thing. This is good for those who have things to sell us. This is how we lost happiness as a state of Being. It all started with the idea that we must look outside ourselves to find happiness. As a result, many lose touch with our natural state of happiness in adolescence. But, it’s not lost. We can get it back.
Many Eastern philosophies tell us that attachment is the root of unhappiness. And, that is why we cannot find happiness in things. However, there is a way to be happy for no reason. There is a way to find the contentment of our state of innocence.
Regaining Our Original State of Being
The way to regain this state is not through religion. It is not through the belief in mythology. The answer is closer and more personal. You don’t need to look outside but inside.
We all have amazing spiritual gifts that we carry in our DNA. The correct spiritual practice will unlock them. Everyone’s path back to this point is different because we all start out in a different place. However, there are some tools that can help everyone find their way back to their original state of being. That is, learning these processes help you forge a path back to your natural state. This is where we return to our natural state of happiness and joy.
We call these processes or tools “spiritual technologies.” These tools make up the domain of spiritual exploration. Also, you may need some healing to get you through this process of awakening. Be sure to use emotional checks as you conduct your research. Be good to yourself and practice self-care. Forge your own spiritual path with your own unique tools.
Spiritual exploration is the practice of processes we call spiritual technologies. In essence, spiritual technologies are methods of developing your potential. In short, these mental tools focus on expanding awareness and consciousness. And, these processes stand up to the test of science – repeatable and measurable. Anyone can use them. It’s like baking a cake. If you follow the directions, you get something delicious.
Of course, there are several ways to list these processes. It’s important to note some of these tools could easily be in more than one category:
- Logical reasoning is one of the first tools we study. This includes the companion tools, spotting logical fallacies and logical axioms. Above all, these are essential tools for any spiritual explorer. They are able to sharpen your ability to discern fact from fiction.
- Another important basic toolset is the “inner work” methods like The Enneagram Personality Profile. These help us to understand the mechanisms of Ego, personality, and instincts. They also provide a doorway to understanding the virtues and gifts of the spirit.
- Progressions of seated meditation are the heart of the practice. This includes a range from Basic Mindfulness Meditation through Japa Meditation and the Siddhis of Patanjali.
- Next, progressions of moving meditation. For instance, several methods of energy collection, like Forest Bathing, Qigong, and Tai Chi.
- Awareness and consciousness expansion pathways such as Lucid Dreaming and the Shamanic Journey or Guided Meditation.
- And last but not least, several healing modalities, such as Reiki, and Shiatsu.
Most importantly the practice of spiritual exploration does not require belief in any particular set or form of dogma.
The accumulation of things does not result in long-lasting happiness. Returning to our natural state of Being is where we find happiness and joy. You can learn to live in our original state of Being. We just need to activate our spiritual gifts. And, we do this through spiritual exploration.
