Insecurity is a major closing tool for Western religion.
Insecurity is our Specialty
Western Organized Religion specializes in making promises which prey upon our basic insecurity of the unknown. Western organized religions are those of Semitic origin, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They are also known as the Abrahamic religions.) These belief systems magnify our insecurity in the future and the potential of an Afterlife. This is actually a great strategy. Because it can never be held accountable for failing to deliver. That’s because the promises of the future, are always in the future. And people cannot dispute the promises of the Afterlife. So, magnifying our fear and insecurity about the future of an Afterlife are major selling and retention tools.
The Path Beyond Insecurity
The path of spiritual exploration begins for many when they are finally able to reject the promises of religion based on the insecurity of their future and an Afterlife (if there is one). Leaving any belief system is hard. This is because it doesn’t involve only beliefs. Leaving a religion also means changing or severing the relationship with many people who depend upon the association with the religion as a part of their personal identity. Many people will only associate with those who continue to buy into and the support the religion. Sometimes this is by choice, but often is a part of the control mechanism of the religion. These practices ensure people who begin to think outside the boundaries of the religion don’t contaminate the other “believers” with rational thought or resources that contradict or uncover the inconsistencies in the belief system.
Religion is very expensive not only in monetary responsibility but also in time. Religion consumes an enormous amount of time, with mandatory meetings and readings and specified daily rituals. If people only spent a tenth of the time embarking on some form of spiritual exploration, then they will be much happier. Also, walking your own path makes you less susceptible to groupthink manipulation tactics of Western religion. There is another side effect of religion. Being subjected to brainwashing techniques erode your ability to use logical reasoning. This makes it more difficult for you to discern the facts from the fiction.
